You have a Japanese USB/PS2 Keyboard 2. You have not installed Japanese language support in Windows Update 3. You did not switch the output language to Japanese (which is Ctrl & Caps Lock when in Japanese mode, Alt & Shift switches between English and Japanese.) 4. You did not enable the language bar thus you cannot see which language you have on After you follow the instructions from the link you had. ![]() ![]() ![]() Choosing from one or multiple of the branch questions I stated, check to see which of each or all of them are active. You need to install Japanese language support via Windows Update, then, you need to go to Language settings (click start button and type language then select the Region and Language link,) then you select Keyboards and Layouts, then Change Keyboards. If Japanese is not added, add it now by selecting 'Add.' Choose Japanese>Microsoft IME, NOT Japanese. You will most likely have your default other language appearing above Japanese, so choose to move Japanese up on the list, if you wish to keep your default language and not remove it (which I do, and I will tell you why in the next paragraph,) then do so. In this window, you can choose your default input language. I personally put the default language to Japanese since it when not in input mode, it's default output is English, so it's your best bet, and it's simple to change if you have a Japanese keyboard, you see the button that on English keyboards is 'tilde' is a language switch button (Kanji on it.) Hit Apply, then OK. Next, simply log off then back on, and you should test it easily by pressing the @ symbol on the keyboard if it's Japanese. Let me know if it works out, have a good one.
